Kim Dong-yeon, Governor of Gyeonggi Province, on the 27th, evaluated the impeachment of Acting President Han Deok-su (Prime Minister) by the National Assembly as a very natural event.
Governor Kim Dong-yeon met with reporters immediately after the '380th 1st Plenary Session' held at the Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly on the same day and stated, "It is very natural that Acting President Han Deok-su is being impeached for taking a series of measures that seem to sympathize with or aid the rebellion."
He continued, "This political uncertainty is now weighing down the economy and people's livelihoods," and emphasized, "The rebellion must be ended as soon as possible, and the line that suggests the rebellion is continuing must be cut quickly."
In particular, he added, "Ending the rebellion, rebuilding the economy, and setting the Republic of Korea on the right path require that political uncertainty be resolved as quickly as possible with the utmost effort," and "In that sense, I believe the impeachment of Prime Minister Han Deok-su, who aided and sympathized with the rebellion, is very natural."
Earlier, the National Assembly passed the impeachment motion against the Acting President with 192 votes in favor.
