Following the impeachment proceedings against the acting president after the president, controversy has arisen as Kim Moon-soo (Suncheon, Gwangyang, Gokseong, Gurye Gap), a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, suddenly departed for the United States.
According to Yonhap News on the 27th, Kim left for the U.S. on the 21st after holding an emergency parliamentary briefing at Suncheon National University. The purpose and schedule of the visit have not yet been confirmed, and it is reported that neither Kim nor his aides can be reached by phone or other means.

Within and outside the political sphere, going to the U.S. amid the emergency martial law situation, where the government, National Assembly, and political parties are all operating under emergency measures, is being evaluated as a 'reckless act.'
In particular, on this day, a parliamentary vote on the impeachment motion against Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, the acting president, was scheduled, making every vote crucial for the Democratic Party. Accordingly, the Democratic Party is reportedly investigating the matter at the party level. Roh Jong-myeon, the party's floor spokesperson, told reporters after the party members' meeting that "appropriate measures at the party level are expected to follow" in response to related questions.
