As the highly anticipated Netflix hit series "Squid Game" Season 2 unveiled on the 26th, renowned physicist Professor Kim Sang-wook sharply criticized the state of emergency by comparing it to Squid Game.

On that day, Professor Kim posted on his Facebook, "Netflix's 'Squid Game' Season 2 has started. But I don't feel much interest." Regarding the reason, Professor Kim said, "Because the entire nation of South Korea is already playing a more horrific Squid Game, risking the fate of the country."

The original "Squid Game," which set a new Netflix record, tells the story of participants risking their lives in brutal games to win a prize of 45.6 billion won. Survival depends on their choices. Professor Kim's remarks appear to metaphorically refer to the paralysis of government following President Yoon Seok-yeol's 'December 3rd insurrection' and the worsening public livelihood caused by it. As of 2 p.m. on the 27th, the post had received 2,600 likes.

Earlier, on the 14th, when the impeachment motion against President Yoon Seok-yeol was passed, Professor Kim also posted on Facebook, "Yoon.Seok.Yeol.Impeachment.Day." and "I am always happy and proud to be one of the people of South Korea who defend democracy with their whole body."

On the 11th, ahead of the vote on the second impeachment motion against President Yoon, he pointed out, "This Saturday, a national festival celebrating the passage of the impeachment will be held in Yeouido. It is a very joyful event, but excessive drinking is forbidden. If excessive drinking continues daily for a long time, there is a risk of declaring martial law and becoming a leader of an insurrection." President Yoon is known to enjoy drinking. On the 6th, he encouraged attendance at the impeachment rally by saying, "Winter in Yeouido is good for a walk. It might be good to visit once."

Professor Kim, a KAIST graduate and physics professor at Kyung Hee University, gained public recognition through appearances on shows such as tvN's "Useless but Interesting Miscellaneous Knowledge."
