Ministry of the Interior and Safety Evaluation Report Grade (A)
Secured Special Grant of 100 Million KRW
Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province (Governor Seo Tae-won) was selected as the ‘Best’ local government by receiving an (A) grade in the 2024 Local Price Stability Management Evaluation hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. Accordingly, it also secured a financial incentive of 100 million KRW in special grants.
This evaluation was conducted targeting 243 local governments nationwide. The main evaluation items included △local public utility price stability management △support for revitalizing Good Price Businesses △price increase rate of personal service fees △efforts to stabilize local prices, totaling four categories. The final grade was determined through quantitative and qualitative assessments. The evaluation results were divided into three grades: (A), (B), and (C), with Gapyeong-gun ranked among the top 151 cities and counties, achieving the highest grade of (A).
In particular, Gapyeong-gun improved by two grades from (C) in 2023 to achieve this ‘Best’ result. The county continuously conducted price stability campaigns aimed at eradicating overcharging and unfair commercial practices, and made various efforts such as expanding the designation of Good Price Businesses and providing incentives to revitalize them.
Additionally, in connection with government policies, Gapyeong-gun promoted delivery fee support projects and additional cashback support projects for Good Price Businesses, alleviating the economic burden on local residents and small business owners. These efforts by Gapyeong-gun were evaluated to have had a positive impact on stabilizing the livelihood of ordinary citizens and recovering the local economy.
Governor Seo Tae-won said, “Achieving the ‘Best’ grade in the local price stability management evaluation is the result of efforts made together with the residents,” and added, “We will continue to promote price monitoring and policies to ensure economic stability and convenience in daily life that residents can feel.”
Meanwhile, Gapyeong-gun plans to continue various projects next year, including expanding the designation and support of Good Price Businesses and conducting continuous on-site inspections to stabilize prices.
