Yeoncheon-gun, Gyeonggi Province announced on the 27th that it will recruit special health checkup candidates for female farmers from January 2 to February 14 next year.
Yeoncheon-gun will conduct special health checkups for 120 female farmers in the area to prevent agricultural work-related diseases and promote health and welfare.
Female farmers residing in Yeoncheon-gun who are registered with an agricultural management entity, born in odd-numbered years, aged between 51 and 70, are eligible to apply and can receive the health checkup with a self-payment of about 22,000 KRW. The examination items include musculoskeletal system, cardiovascular system, fracture and injury risk, lung capacity, pesticide poisoning tests, and additionally, early diagnosis of agricultural work-related diseases, post-management, preventive education, and specialist consultations will be provided.
Yeoncheon-gun plans to recruit candidates and conduct the checkups starting in March through a mobile medical institution examination bus operating within the area. The examinees can conveniently receive the checkup via the examination vehicle at the Yeoncheon-gun Agricultural Technology Center.
Yeoncheon-gun plans to conduct special health checkups for female farmers by recruiting candidates from January to February this year, and applications can be submitted to the industrial team at the administrative welfare centers in the townships of the applicant’s address. The application deadline is February 14 next year, and early closure may occur once the total project quota is filled.
A Yeoncheon-gun official said, “Female farmers tend to have a high prevalence of diseases due to balancing agricultural work and household chores. We hope that this special health checkup project will help prevent diseases in advance and improve their quality of life.”
