The city of Suwon in Gyeonggi Province received the Presidential Award for its policies promoting bicycle use.
On the 27th, Suwon City announced that it was selected as an excellent institution and awarded the Presidential Award in the ‘2024 Bicycle Use Promotion Policy Evaluation’ conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. The evaluation targeted nationwide local governments, civic groups, and educational institutions that have made efforts to promote bicycle use and spread a safe bicycle culture.
Suwon City has set the goal of creating an ‘eco-friendly city good for cycling’ and has carried out projects such as ▲establishing a new bicycle practice area at Manseok Park ▲expanding outreach bicycle & PM (Personal Mobility) safety education ▲joint campaigns for safe use of bicycles & PM ▲operating policy delivery bicycles ▲and managing public bicycle rental stations.
A Suwon City official said, "We will continue to implement various bicycle policies to create an environment where citizens can use bicycles more safely and conveniently."
