"Repetitive Voting Scenes Feel Somewhat Dragged Out"
With the release of Netflix drama 'Squid Game' Season 2 (Squid Game 2), the British BBC gave it a rating of 4 out of 5 stars.

On the 26th (local time), the British BBC published a review titled "A very welcome return to a hellish world" about 'Squid Game 2'.
BBC stated, "'Squid Game' became a global phenomenon when it first aired in 2021," and predicted, "This return is also expected to be hugely popular." The outlet explained, "There is no doubt that Squid Game 2 will be as successful as Season 1," adding, "The games remain surreal and bizarre, with frequent murders and countless shootouts."
However, they expressed some disappointment, saying, "This season consists of 7 episodes, fewer than Season 1, but the repetitive voting scenes and shocking moments can feel somewhat drawn out," and "Also, the identity of the character who betrays others is too obvious from the beginning." They added, "Nonetheless, this return to the hellish world is very much welcomed."
Regarding actor Lee Jung-jae, who plays Gi-hun in the drama, they noted, "He won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in 2022 for this drama, and it is highly likely he will receive more awards at the next ceremony."
BBC said, "'Squid Game' currently has surpassed 265 million views, remaining the most-watched show ever on Netflix. It can be described as a violent show featuring hundreds of brutal and direct murders, but director Hwang Dong-hyuk would argue that all this violence is inevitable." They continued, "'Squid Game' is a cruel satire on Korea's wealth gap and class inequality," adding, "Three years after Season 1, it will send chills down your spine this holiday season."
Meanwhile, 'Squid Game 2' was simultaneously released worldwide at 5 PM Korean time on the 26th. Directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk, the work consists of 7 episodes, and thanks to the success of Season 1, a production budget of 1,000 won was invested. Season 2 depicts the intense confrontation between Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae), who vows revenge with the start of new games, and the Front Man (Lee Byung-hun) who awaits him. In particular, besides the existing characters (Lee Jung-jae and Lee Byung-hun), many new characters such as Im Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Wi Ha-joon, Park Gyu-young, and Choi Seung-hyun were introduced, generating much attention.
