Dobong-gu Selects 5 Excellent Projects for 'Dobong-style Companionship with the Vulnerable'
'BapmeokGO Youth Village Restaurant Operation' Contributes to Creating a Care Community... Ranked 1st in Resident Votes
Dobong-gu (Mayor Oh Eon-seok) announced this year’s welfare projects chosen by the residents.
The district revealed that among the 82 projects under the 2024 'Dobong-style Companionship with the Vulnerable,' an online survey was conducted targeting residents, and five welfare projects of the year were finally selected.
This selection was made by combining self-evaluations from the 82 project managers and external evaluations from the advisory evaluation committee. Initially, 15 projects were selected across eight major areas including children and youth, seniors, and persons with disabilities, and then the final decision was made through an online survey of residents. A total of 1,326 residents participated in the online survey.
The excellent projects of the year selected by the residents are ▲BapmeokGO Youth Village Restaurant Operation ▲Jangrongmyeonheo Social Worker Growth Support ▲Smart Care Service Support for Elderly Living Alone ▲Women’s Technical School Operation ▲Isolation and Reclusive Youth Support Project Cheongbaji, totaling five projects.
Among them, the ‘BapmeokGO Youth Village Restaurant Operation’ project received the highest number of votes from residents with 158 votes. This project aims to prevent youth from skipping meals and support their healthy growth by operating a youth restaurant. It provides free meals to youth while supporting activities that reflect the needs of the participating youth, thereby creating a strong local care community.
The next most voted project was ‘Jangrongmyeonheo Social Worker Growth Support’ with 121 votes. This project supports residents who have obtained social worker certification but face difficulties finding employment by providing education and hands-on experience opportunities, helping them grow into excellent welfare workers. In addition to a solid curriculum, the project is praised by residents as a practical initiative because it also connects participants to employment.
Following that, the ‘Smart Care Service Support for Elderly Living Alone’ project, which provides systematic care services to elderly living alone through artificial intelligence (AI) care robots, and the ‘Women’s Technical School Operation’ project, which offers job linkage services for women and provides phased and long-term support for startups, received 116 and 108 votes respectively, ranking third and fourth. The fifth place went to the ‘Isolation and Reclusive Youth Support Project Cheongbaji,’ which helps socially isolated and reclusive youth enter society, with 100 votes.
Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, said, “I would like to express my deep gratitude to the project managers who have worked hard to ensure flawless welfare services on the ground this year as well,” adding, “The district will continue to promote welfare policies that reflect the needs and demands of residents with the goal of ‘Dobong, a tightly knit welfare community that leaves no resident behind.”
