[Tomorrow's Weather] Morning Low -13°C Extreme Cold... Snow and Rain in Chungcheong and Jeolla Regions

On Friday the 27th, a severe cold wave will hit, with morning temperatures dropping to around -10 degrees Celsius, mainly in the central inland areas. The wind will also blow, making it feel very cold.

Cold wave warnings have been issued for the inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon, northern and eastern Gyeonggi, northern Chungbuk, and northeastern mountainous areas of Gyeongbuk. Morning temperatures will be around -10 degrees Celsius, especially in northern and eastern Gyeonggi, inland and mountainous Gangwon, central and northern Chungbuk, and northern Gyeongbuk.


The morning low temperatures are forecasted to range from -13 to 1 degrees Celsius, and the daytime highs from -1 to 7 degrees Celsius. The regional temperatures on the 27th (low~high) are expected as follows: ▲ Seoul (-7~1) ▲ Incheon (-6~1) ▲ Suwon (-8~1) ▲ Chuncheon (-12~0) ▲ Gangneung (-4~4) ▲ Cheongju (-4~2) ▲ Daejeon (-5~3) ▲ Sejong (-6~2) ▲ Jeonju (-3~3) ▲ Gwangju (-1~4) ▲ Daegu (-4~4) ▲ Busan (-1~7) ▲ Ulsan (-3~5) ▲ Changwon (-2~6) ▲ Jeju (5~8).


On the west coast of Chungnam and the western Jeolla region, rain or snow will begin from dawn and spread in the afternoon to inland Chungnam and other parts of Jeolla, and at night to the southern Gyeonggi west coast, central and southern Chungbuk, western inland Gyeongsang, and Jeju Island.


The expected snowfall over the two days from the 27th to the 28th is 5 to 15 cm in Jeonbuk (with more than 20 cm in the western coast and southern inland of Jeonbuk), 3 to 10 cm in northwestern Gwangju and Jeonnam, 1 to 5 cm in central and northern inland Chungnam, central and southern Chungbuk, and around 1 cm in western inland Gyeongbuk. In the mountainous areas of Jeju Island, 3 to 10 cm of snow is expected, with about 1 cm in the mid-mountain areas of Jeju.


The expected precipitation over the two days is 5 to 20 mm in Jeonbuk, 5 to 10 mm in northwestern Gwangju and Jeonnam and Jeju, less than 5 mm in western inland Gyeongnam, Ulleungdo and Dokdo, around 1 mm in the southern Gyeonggi west coast, the five islands in the West Sea, and western inland Gyeongbuk.


Fine dust levels will be 'Good' across all regions due to smooth atmospheric dispersion.
