Yangsan City in Gyeongnam installed a smart bus stop at Cheonseong River Town Bus Stop using funds raised through the Hometown Love Donation Program.
This project was designed with the goal of enhancing residents' convenience and will provide better public transportation environments for Yangsan citizens.
The smart bus stop incorporates advanced information technology, offering real-time bus arrival information, comfortable waiting seats, route guidance, and various other features. These facilities are expected to improve the efficiency of public transportation use, enhance daily convenience, and strengthen overall urban competitiveness.
The Hometown Love Donation Program allows any Korean citizen to make donations to local governments other than their current residence, with a full tax credit up to 100,000 KRW, a 16.5% tax credit on amounts exceeding 100,000 KRW, and the option to receive thank-you gifts worth up to 30% of the donation. Besides the ‘Smart Bus Stop Installation Project,’ Yangsan City has completed two other funded projects using the Hometown Love Fund: ‘Medical and Educational Support for Abused Children’ and ‘Workshop Programs for Out-of-School Youth.’
Lee Sang-jin, Head of the Collection Division, stated, “Funds raised through the Hometown Love Donation Program contribute to improving residents’ daily convenience,” and added, “We will continue to strive to provide various public services that residents can directly experience through the Hometown Love Fund.”
