Chonnam National University Hospital (Director: Jung Shin) announced on the 26th that it has received the highest rating of Grade 1 for the sixth consecutive time in the gastric cancer adequacy assessment released by the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service (HIRA).
HIRA conducted the gastric cancer adequacy assessment on 146 medical institutions nationwide, targeting patients aged 18 or older who were hospitalized at least once for primary gastric cancer and received surgery, chemotherapy, or radiation therapy between July 2022 and June last year. The evaluation was based on 11 indicators.
The main assessment consisted of 11 evaluation indicators and 4 monitoring indicators. Chonnam National University Hospital received high scores for criteria such as ▲composition of specialized personnel ▲proportion of severe cases among surgical patients ▲rate of additional gastrectomy after incomplete endoscopic resection, among others.
As a result, Chonnam National University Hospital has received Grade 1 for six consecutive times since the gastric cancer adequacy assessment began in 2014.
