Regular 4th Quarter Meeting Held at Sono Calm Goyang

Goyang Special City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) announced on the 26th that it held the 4th quarter regular meeting of the Northern Gyeonggi Business Association 2024 on the 23rd at the Grand Ballroom on the 2nd floor of Sono Calm Goyang East Tower.

Hosted by the Goyang Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the event was attended by about 200 people including Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon, Goyang Special City Mayor Lee Dong-hwan, mayors and county heads from northern Gyeonggi, and businesspeople, who shared current issues for the development of the northern Gyeonggi region and discussed cooperation plans.
The Northern Gyeonggi Business Association holds meetings quarterly by rotating through each district, where local economic figures and opinion leaders gather to collect public opinion for the development of northern Gyeonggi and propose policy alternatives.
Mayor Lee Dong-hwan of Goyang Special City said, “Since Goyang Special City was selected as the first candidate site for the Economic Free Zone in northern Gyeonggi in 2022, it has completed attracting investments worth about 6.5 trillion won by signing business agreements and letters of intent with leading domestic and international companies.”
He added, “We will definitely make the Goyang Economic Free Zone a global economic hub by linking it with large-scale industrial infrastructures such as Ilsan Technovalley, Broadcasting and Video Valley, and KINTEX Exhibition Center 3. We will continue to work with Gyeonggi Province to promote the designation of the Economic Free Zone and regional development.”
In his congratulatory speech, Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon said, “Gyeonggi Province will actively support the designation and successful promotion of the Economic Free Zone in Goyang Special City. Although many are concerned about the suspension of CJ Live City's K-Culture Valley project, there is no need to worry at all. We will do our best to cooperate with Goyang City to complete the project more quickly and innovatively.”
