Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon met with Gyeonggi Provincial Council Chairperson Kim Jin-kyung to request the prompt approval of Gyeonggi Province's New Year budget proposal.
On the 26th, Governor Kim Dong-yeon told Chairperson Kim Jin-kyung, "People's livelihoods are difficult and domestic demand is a problem," adding, "Since small business owners, self-employed individuals, and the year-end special demand for livelihoods have all disappeared, an active fiscal role is necessary, and the supplementary budget must be executed quickly," explaining the background of his request.
He continued, "If the budget is passed by tomorrow, we have already instructed preparations so that we can execute the budget as quickly as possible in early January," and urged, "There are many pending issues, so I ask you, Chairperson, to process it as soon as possible, preferably within this week."

He also said, "I am always grateful that you have played a major role and resolved problems well at critical moments," emphasizing, "When it comes to livelihood issues, there is no distinction between ruling and opposition parties. Instead of worrying about party lines, if we proceed quickly, we will do our best to revive livelihoods in the shortest time possible with the approved budget."
In response, Chairperson Kim Jin-kyung said, "Since people's livelihoods are currently very difficult, it must be done as soon as possible," adding, "We should have resolved this earlier. I will try to finish it by tomorrow if possible."
She also promised, "I will play a mediating role to facilitate negotiations and communicate with the leaders of both parties to ensure smooth progress."
