Since 2007, the Korea Migrant Workers Foundation has directly prepared and held a free joint wedding ceremony every Christmas for multicultural families and migrant workers over the past 17 years. Additionally, the Gwangju branch of the Korea Beauty Association Central Committee has been providing professional beauty services such as makeup and hair styling for the newlywed couples participating in the joint wedding ceremony.
Chairman Heo Kyung-haeng said, “I send encouragement and applause to the foreign workers and migrants who have left their homeland, settled in our Gwangju, and are working hard either at industrial sites or as mothers and fathers of families.” He added, “I hope that all foreign residents and citizens have a meaningful time today through this event to foster a sense of community unique to our Gwangju.”
