Yeoncheon-gun Selects Winning Design for Jeongok Play Park... Accelerating Urban Regeneration Revitalization

Construction to Start Next Year... Target Completion by December 2027

Yeoncheon-gun, Gyeonggi Province announced on the 26th that the winning design for the architectural design competition of the Jeongok Play Park Construction Project’ has been selected as ‘The Face of Jeongok Embracing the Breath of the Prehistoric Era’.

The winning design features a fa?ade plan that harmonizes with the surroundings such as Jeongok Station and embodies the identity of Jeongok, along with a flow of movement that considers the convenience of users including infants and youth, blending well with the surrounding landscape.


The Jeongok Play Park Construction Project is a regional hub facility promoted as part of the urban regeneration revitalization project around Jeongok 4-ri, planned to be built with two basement floors and five above-ground floors.


Yeoncheon-gun plans to sign the basic and detailed design contract in January next year, aiming to start construction in 2025 and complete it by December 2027.


The Jeongok Play Park Construction Project will consist of a children’s themed playground, startup education and youth center, and youth accommodation, with a project budget of 28.2 billion KRW.


An official from Yeoncheon-gun stated, “Once the Jeongok Play Park Construction Project is completed, it will create a synergy effect together with the ongoing Jeongok Prehistoric Specialized Street Environment Development Project, greatly helping to revitalize the stagnant local economy,” and added, “We look forward to the birth of a new tourist attraction linked with nearby tourist sites.”
