Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) announced on the 26th that it will collect residents' opinions to change the names of six roads, including Uraeul-gil, assigned to single-family residential land within the urban development project area at 788 Sangok-dong.

The area near the site was once the Dokbawi Village before the urban development project was implemented, and some residents are expected to relocate due to the development project.
Accordingly, the village residents who are expected to use road names such as Uraeul-gil requested that the road names include the place name "Dokbawi" to remember the origin of Dokbawi Village.
Uijeongbu City will accept residents' opinions until January 6, 2025. Opinions can be submitted by filling out the opinion form announced on the city hall website and submitting it directly to the Land Information Division or by fax.
After collecting residents' opinions, Uijeongbu City plans to announce the road name changes after deliberation by the Address Information Committee, and thereafter, newly constructed buildings will be assigned road name addresses based on the changed road names.
Kim Jeong-seop, head of the Land Information Division, said, "We will actively reflect residents' opinions when assigning and changing road names to ensure there is no inconvenience in using road name addresses."
