The meeting was attended by advisory committee members, including Kwon Young-geol, Chairman of the National Architecture Policy Committee, who comprehensively reviewed the results of discussions so far.
At the final advisory committee meeting, the reasons and purpose for developing CRC into a national design cluster, as well as the direction for its establishment, were finalized and the proposed plans were confirmed.
Chairman Kwon Young-geol emphasized, “CRC is not just a physical space but an important asset containing historical value and new possibilities. If its potential is unlocked through national-level development, the CRC design cluster will not only elevate Uijeongbu as a center of design and innovation but also become new infrastructure that injects economic vitality.”
Mayor Kim Dong-geun stated, “We plan to continuously propose the necessity and justification for establishing the CRC design cluster to central government ministries, especially the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. By creating a world-class design cluster in northern Gyeonggi, where development has been slow due to various regulations, we aim to achieve mutual growth among regions and create new growth engines for Uijeongbu.”
