Jeon Jin-seon, Yangpyeong County Governor, Wins Excellence Award in Local Government Head Category for Legislative and Administrative Achievement

Jeon Jin-seon, the governor of Yangpyeong County, received the Excellence Award in the Basic Local Government Head category at the 3rd Legislative and Administrative Awards Ceremony hosted by the Korea Press Solidarity, held at the National Assembly Library Auditorium on the 24th.

The 3rd Legislative and Administrative Awards, organized by the Korea Press Solidarity, are given annually to individuals who have devoted their passion to the welfare of the nation and its people in the fields of legislation and administration. The awards target 17 metropolitan local government heads nationwide, metropolitan district councils, including members of the National Assembly and public enterprises.

Governor Jeon Jin-seon, upon taking office in the 8th term of direct election, set the county administration vision as "People and Nature, Happy Yangpyeong," and has continuously communicated with residents to realize an attractive Yangpyeong that fulfills the happiness and expectations of its citizens by implementing practical administration that benefits them.

In particular, he received great acclaim for attractive county policies such as △ turning the crisis of overlapping regulations into an opportunity by developing environmentally friendly tourism courses that leverage the advantages of clean areas △ being selected as an environmental education city spreading sustainable lifestyles through carbon neutrality realization △ reopening the Semiwon Baedari Bridge and hosting the Dumulmeori Music Festival to establish a foothold toward the National Garden △ prioritizing a public transportation transfer system at Yangpyeong Station that satisfies residents △ completing an attractive complex cultural and welfare space with the opening of Yangpyeong Library and the Senior Welfare Center △ and the Yangpyeong Filling Project for balanced development between the east and west.

Governor Jeon Jin-seon said, “This award is especially meaningful because it was given by the Korea Press Solidarity, which serves as the eyes and ears of the residents,” and added, “I will continue to listen more closely to the voices of the residents as their representative and communicate with them to create an attractive Yangpyeong where the happiness of the residents is fulfilled, and I will strive even harder.”
