Operates for 25 days until January 24 next year... Free use for all infants and children up to elementary school students
Features an 80m large slope, a toddler-only slope, igloos, and a snow playground with plenty of fun activities
Songpa-gu (District Mayor Seo Gang-seok) announced that it will open the ‘Haha Hoho Olympic Sledding Park’ at the Peace Plaza of Olympic Park on December 31 to coincide with the winter vacation.
First introduced last winter, the ‘Haha Hoho Olympic Sledding Park’ (hereafter referred to as the sledding park) has been enhanced this year to be safer and offer more fun activities.
The main facilities include two slopes: an 80-meter large slope for children aged six and above, and a 40-meter small slope exclusively for toddlers aged 3 to 5. Both facilities are equipped with shock-absorbing mats to ensure safe sledding.
To prepare for the cold, 40 Mongolian tents and heating equipment are provided, and a medical room is operated for emergencies.
Besides sledding, various winter play and sports experiences are available. The ‘Snow Play Hill’ located in the center of the sledding park includes a snow playground, igloos, photo zone sculptures, and visitors can also enjoy basketball and curling experiences. On opening day and weekends, the event zone hosts activities such as treasure hunts, making ice animal kingdoms, and decorating a New Year’s wish tree.
The sledding park operates from December 31 to January 24 next year. Operating hours are daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with three admission sessions per day divided into two-hour intervals. During the 30-minute breaks, slope inspections and snow condition maintenance are conducted.
Anyone can enter on-site without a reservation, and admission is free. However, only children up to 6th grade in elementary school may use the slopes; adults are not allowed.
By searching ‘Haha Hoho Olympic Sledding Park’ on search engines, visitors can check real-time admission status and other on-site information. A call center is also available for real-time inquiries.
Safety has been given utmost attention. From the day before opening until the last day of operation, joint inspections and daily checks are conducted with rescue experts. Additionally, 18 staff members including safety personnel and facility managers are on duty at all times to respond to emergencies.
During the sledding park’s operation from January 1 to February 8 this year, about 25,000 people visited. According to a survey, 95% of respondents were ‘satisfied’ with the sledding park, citing facilities, accessibility, and safety personnel deployment as key factors.
District Mayor Seo Gang-seok said, “The ‘Haha Hoho Olympic Sledding Park’ prepared by Songpa-gu is a place where children can create joyful memories with their parents, and parents can gift happy memories to their adorable children. We will strive to ensure that everyone can use the park safely through meticulous safety management and top-quality facility maintenance.”
