Lydia Ko Olympic Gold Medal, Best LPGA News of the Year Ready to go

On the 24th (local time), the American golf media Golfweek selected and announced the top 10 major news stories in the world women's golf scene this year. Lydia Ko was inducted into the Golf Hall of Fame with her Olympic gold medal in Paris, and immediately followed it up by winning the major tournament AIG Women's Open, becoming the protagonist of a 'fairy tale story.'

World No. 1 Nelly Korda (USA) was ranked 3rd for the incident where she scored 10 strokes on one hole at the US Women's Open last May. The 4th place was taken by the resignation of LPGA Tour Commissioner Mollie Marcoux Samaan. Following that, Korda's victory at the major Chevron Championship in April, marking her fifth consecutive win, was ranked 5th.

The retirement of top LPGA Tour players such as Lexi Thompson and Brittany Lincicome (both USA) was ranked 6th, and Charlie Hull (England) smoking during the US Women's Open was ranked 7th. The Solheim Cup, the women's golf competition between the USA and Europe, took 8th place, and 9th place was awarded to Gino Titingan (Thailand) for earning the highest prize money in LPGA Tour history of 4 million dollars (about 5.8 billion won). The final 10th place went to Lauren Coughlin (USA), who won her first LPGA Tour event at the age of 32.
