The office of President Yoon Seok-yeol remained silent without issuing a separate statement on the 25th, despite refusing the second summons from the High-ranking Officials' Crime Investigation Agency.
On the same day, lawyer Seok Dong-hyun, who is involved in forming President Yoon's defense team for the investigation and the impeachment trial representatives, informed reporters that he would not be coming to the Dongjin law firm office where he works.
Lawyer Seok met with reporters at his office on the 17th, 19th, 23rd, and 24th to convey President Yoon's stance on the impeachment trial and the investigation.
President Yoon's side holds the position that the impeachment trial procedure takes precedence over the investigation. As the Constitutional Court plans to hold a preparatory hearing on the 27th as scheduled, it appears they will focus on preparing for the impeachment trial without media contact on that day.
The day before, Lawyer Seok stated, "The defense team will release an organized position on that matter after the day following Christmas," adding, "This does not mean that all issues will be announced. Regarding the preparatory hearing procedure on the 27th, there may be a position or response."
