Damyang County in Jeollanam-do announced on the 25th that it has been selected as an excellent institution in the "Family-Friendly Certification System" organized by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family. This certification is the result of exemplary operation of various systems and policies aimed at balancing work and family life.
The Family-Friendly Certification System is a government program in which the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family grants certification to organizations and companies that introduce various systems supporting the work-family balance of employees.
The county has created a family-friendly work environment by expanding employee welfare, including the activation of maternity and parental leave, flexible working systems, the promotion of Family Healing Day, the operation of workplace clubs, and the provision of recreational facilities. These efforts were highly evaluated, leading to the county being selected as an excellent institution for the first time in 2016 and receiving recertification this year.
With this certification, the county plans to promote even more systematic family-friendly management policies and aims to establish itself as a leading local government that values work-life balance.
County Governor Lee Byeongno stated, "This year's family-friendly certification is the result of our consistent efforts based on the philosophy that the happiness of our employees is the competitiveness of administration," and added, "We will continue to create an environment where employees can work happily."
