First Major Donor, Son Soon-gyeong Administrative Director of Seoul Gwangyeong Girls' High School
Donation Made with Hope for a More Prosperous Busan City
Busan City reported that compared to last year, there is a clear increase in donations to the 'Busan Hometown Love Donation Program,' and this year, the first high-value donor for the hometown love donation has emerged.
The first high-value donor this year is Son Soon-kyung, the administrative director working at Gwangyeong Girls' High School in Seoul, whose hometown is Yeongju City, Gyeongbuk Province.
Director Son learned about the hometown love donation program through the city's year-end event promotion and donated 5 million KRW to the city as a hometown love donation.
Director Son shared, “I have memories of visiting Haeundae, Busan during my university days, and I have visited Busan several times to see Father Kim Young-hoon Michael of Jeonpo Catholic Church, who baptized me. Every time I visited Busan, I was amazed by the city's new changes, and I donated with the hope that Busan will continue to develop further.”
Kim Bong-cheol, Director of the City’s Administrative Autonomy Bureau, said, “The hometown love donation program seems to be gradually gaining momentum as it enters its second year of implementation. We appreciate those who have shown interest in Busan and donated, and we ask for active participation in the 'Year-end Hometown Love Donation 2+3 King Event' prepared with that sentiment.”
The city is conducting the 'Year-end Busan Hometown Love Donation 2+3 King Event,' which offers 'five benefits' to those who donate to 'Busan Metropolitan City (City Hall)' ahead of the year-end tax settlement.
The event period lasts until the end of this year, and those who donate 100,000 KRW or more can receive event benefits along with a 16.5% tax credit on the excess amount.
Donors wishing to express their love for their hometown Busan can donate 100,000 KRW or more through the Hometown Love Donation (e)um website or by visiting NH Nonghyup Bank.
