BPA Selected as an Excellent Operating Institution for BPA Hope Storage in 2024

12th Branch (Changwon-si Jinhae General Social Welfare Center) Grand Prize Winner

Busan Port Authority (BPA) held the ‘BPA Hope Pantry Operation Know-how Contest (Performance Sharing Meeting).’

BPA’s representative social contribution brand, the sharing refrigerator project ‘BPA Hope Pantry,’ is currently operated by 16 organizations, carrying out various sharing activities targeting vulnerable groups in the Busan and Gyeongnam regions.

BPA holds a performance sharing meeting at the end of each year to enhance the stability of the Hope Pantry project, encourage active donation recruitment activities by operating organizations, share best practices, and discuss the discovery and dissemination of sustainable operation know-how.

Additionally, an evaluation committee composed of two internal members and three external experts selects outstanding operating organizations.

The highest award, the Grand Prize, was given to BPA Hope Pantry Branch No. 12 (Changwon Jinhae General Social Welfare Center). The Changwon Jinhae General Social Welfare Center received high praise for lowering access barriers for users through 24-hour unmanned operation and for efforts to activate community donation participation by operating a local side dish club.

The Excellence Award was given to Branches No. 3 and 4 (Sasang-gu General Social Welfare Center) and Branch No. 10 (Sinpyeong Sarangchae Senior Welfare Center), while the Encouragement Award was given to Branch No. 1 (Dongsam General Social Welfare Center), Branch No. 14 (Busan Jung-gu Volunteer Center), and Branch No. 15 (Sasang-gu Youth Training Center).

BPA supports outstanding operating organizations by providing refrigerator supplies worth 2 million KRW for the Grand Prize, 1 million KRW each for the Excellence Awards, and 500,000 KRW each for the Encouragement Awards.

BPA President Kang Jun-seok said, “Through the performance sharing meeting, we will strive to make BPA Hope Pantry a focal point for spreading the local donation culture by benchmarking best practices among operating organizations and discovering more efficient operation methods.”
