The Democratic Party of Korea decided on the 24th to postpone the motion to impeach Prime Minister Han Deok-su, acting on behalf of the President.
Park Chan-dae, the floor leader, told reporters that "As anticipated today, we had planned to file the impeachment motion at 5:30 PM," but added, "We decided to wait and observe the process of immediately appointing the three Constitutional Court justices once the plenary session is held on the 26th and their appointment consent is granted."
He continued, "Although the party policy was to file the motion immediately today, we decided to be patient and wait until the 26th to see if the appointment of the Constitutional Court justices and the issues we demanded are fulfilled, considering the sentiments of the people."
Park, the floor leader, emphasized, "If the impeachment motion is filed after the 26th, it will be reported at the plenary session on the 27th," and added, "The 26th is the last chance. Acting Prime Minister Han must actively cooperate in ending the internal conflict by heeding the people's mandate."
