Busan Urban Corporation Wins 'Organizing Committee Chairman Award' at the 3rd Korea ESG Awards

Busan Metropolitan Corporation (BMC) received the 'Organizing Committee Chairman Award' at the 3rd Korea ESG Awards 2024 ceremony hosted by the Beautiful School Movement Headquarters on the 17th.

Busan Urban Corporation is receiving the 3rd Korea ESG Award 'Organizing Committee Chairman Award' and taking a commemorative photo.

The Korea ESG Awards is a competition hosted by the Beautiful School Movement Headquarters to promote the spread of ESG management culture, supported by the Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Education, Seoul Metropolitan Government, Gyeonggi Province, and others. It awards institutions with outstanding ESG management performance.

Since its establishment, Busan Metropolitan Corporation became the first to join the UN Global Compact (UNGC) and published a Sustainability Management Report summarizing the corporation’s ESG promotion achievements.

Additionally, following ESG management goals of ‘Carbon Neutrality and Eco-friendly Urban Space Creation,’ ‘Realization of People-centered Value Management,’ and ‘Implementation of Transparent and Fair Management with Public Consensus,’ BMC has promoted various projects in the fields of environment, society, and governance. Recognizing these achievements, it was the only local public enterprise to receive an award.

Shin Chang-ho, President of Busan Metropolitan Corporation, said, “BMC published its first Sustainability Management Report this year to actively and transparently disclose information to various stakeholders, and was recognized for its diverse ESG management achievements, leading to this award. We will do our best to play a more leading role in spreading ESG management in the region.”
