The Department of Esports Industry at Honam University recently announced on the 24th that it had operated an esports leader class program aimed at developing professional coaching competencies and practical skills for students aspiring to become future esports leaders.
This training, held from the 20th to the 23rd, was organized by the T1 Esports Academy. On the first day, held on the 20th, theoretical coaching classes covered an overview of esports coaching, understanding player psychology, learning patterns of players, and effective teaching methods.
On the second day, students learned replay analysis and real-time coaching techniques for League of Legends and Valorant. On the third day, they studied the qualities and ethics of a leader, methods for building trust with players, concepts of game strategy, and data-driven strategy development.
The lectures were conducted by T1 Esports Academy head coach Park Sangbeom, as well as coaches Koo Taegyun and Chae Gwangjin. The program was part of the esports coaching leader course under the Korea Creative Content Agency’s esports professional workforce development project, and students who completed the course were awarded certificates of completion.
