Special 'Panak Operated by Sono' Opens on the 24th... MOU Signed
Kim Kwang-yeol, Governor of Yeongdeok-gun, Gyeongbuk, attended the grand opening ceremony of ‘Panak Operated by Sono,’ officially opening on the 24th, to celebrate the launch of a premium accommodation facility representing the region.

The event was held successfully with about 100 attendees, including Panak CEO Kim Min-su, Sono International Hotels & Resorts CEO Lee Byung-chun, hotel construction and operation officials, Kim Kwang-yeol, Governor of Yeongdeok-gun, Kim Seong-ho, Chairman of the County Council, and Hwang Jae-cheol, Gyeongbuk Provincial Assembly member.
Governor Kim Kwang-yeol said, “As Ganggu Port, one of the top ten tourist attractions nationwide, is expected to attract even more visitors following the opening of the East-West 4-axis expressway and the Donghae Line railway, there was an urgent need for premium accommodation facilities capable of hosting large numbers of tourists. I sincerely hope that Panak Yeongdeok, long desired by the region, will create synergy with Yeongdeok’s highly competitive tourism resources, becoming an opportunity to unleash each other’s potential and possibilities.”
Located within Samsa Marine Park in Ganggu-myeon, Yeongdeok-gun, ‘Panak Operated by Sono’ is a hotel-style premium residential accommodation facility designed so that all rooms face the scenic Ganggu Port and offer views of the pristine Yeongdeok Sea. It consists of a hotel building with 217 rooms spanning 9 floors above ground and 4 basement levels, and 45 detached pool villa units with 2 floors above ground and 1 basement level.
On the 19th, Yeongdeok-gun signed a business agreement with Panak to revitalize local tourism and increase benefits for residents. The agreement includes △ development of tourism packages linked to local tourist sites and representative festivals and joint marketing efforts △ discount benefits for local residents using the facilities △ supply and use of local clean agricultural, marine, and forest specialty products as ingredients △ customized workforce training and employment opportunities for local youth △ support for other local events and underprivileged groups.
