According to Uijeongbu City on the 24th, this visit was arranged as part of Uijeongbu City's welfare brand "Care for All." Care for All is being promoted through a total of 11 tasks (projects) across three sectors to create "Uijeongbu where every citizen receives care and everyone cares together." In the case of the "Care Life Site," the mayor visits marginalized groups to experience the situation on-site and seeks improvement measures through communication and collaboration.
On that day, Mayor Kim Dong-geun dressed as Santa and visited the facility for the children eagerly awaiting Christmas. He spent a joyful time decorating the Christmas tree and holding a lighting ceremony with about 20 children. In particular, he added warmth by delivering toys that the children had wanted to have.
Toys worth about 3.4 million won were prepared through the support of the local fellowship group Gyeonguidongsa (President Kim Hyun-sik) and the cooperation of Academy Science (CEO Kim Myung-kwan) via the Gyeonggi Social Welfare Community Chest, and some will also be delivered to children who have suffered abuse.
Mayor Kim Dong-geun said, "Like the sparkling Christmas tree, I hope our children grow to be beings who brighten the world as they pursue their dreams," and added, "I ask everyone to work together so that children can achieve their dreams without worries and grow up healthy."
