Investigation Launched into Gu Samhoe 2nd Armored Brigade Commander and Others
The police have referred three colonels as accomplices of former Commander of the Defense Intelligence Command, Moon Sang-ho, to the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials (CIO).
The Special Investigation Unit of the National Police Agency announced that Colonels Kim Bong-gyu, Jeong Seong-uk, and Go Dong-hee were referred to the CIO as accomplices in Moon's charges of rebellion and obstruction of the exercise of official duties.
The Special Investigation Unit has also booked and summoned Gu Sam-hoe, commander of the 2nd Armored Brigade, Bang Jeong-hwan, Innovation Planning Officer at the Ministry of National Defense, and Jeong Seong-woo, head of the 1st Counterintelligence Division.
Former Commander Moon is accused of ordering the deployment of troops to the Central Election Commission (CEC) in Gwacheon, Gyeonggi Province, following President Yoon Seok-yeol's declaration of martial law on the 3rd. He is also suspected of deploying the HID, a North infiltration operations unit under the Defense Intelligence Command, as an emergency arrest squad for members of the National Assembly.
