The Boryeong-Seocheon Regional Committee of the Democratic Party of Korea held a press conference on the 24th at Culture Lecture Room 1 of Seocheon County Office, urging for "the arrest and detention of President Yoon Sukyeol and the Constitutional Court's acceptance of the impeachment motion."
They pointed out, "Yoon Sukyeol, the ringleader of rebellion, has attempted to overthrow the liberal democratic system through constitutional disorder and rebellion, and now he is refusing to comply with all criminal procedures and the judicial system."
They continued, "Given the behavior Yoon Sukyeol, the ringleader of rebellion, has shown so far, it is clear that he will not only refuse to comply with requests for appearance but also reject all related documents," adding, "Yoon Sukyeol tried to destroy democracy through rebellion and has refused to respond to summons from investigative agencies, proving he is unfit to serve as president or even as a citizen."
They further argued, "The Constitutional Court must swiftly and strictly judge Yoon Sukyeol's rebellious acts, which have destroyed democracy and constitutional order through the declaration of martial law, violated the constitution and the rule of law, and endangered the lives and safety of the people, reflecting the voice of the people."
They went on to demand: △the Constitutional Court's acceptance of the impeachment motion △the arrest and detention of Yoon Sukyeol in accordance with the principle of cooperation △the immediate acceptance and promulgation of the 'Special Prosecutor Act on Rebellion' and the 'Kim Keonhee Special Prosecutor Act' by Acting President Han Ducksoo.
