K Bank Holds Final Communication Meeting of the Year... Invites Manager Lee Kang-cheol

All former employees of K Bank attended the year-end communication meeting to share the year's achievements and listen to a leadership lecture.

K Bank announced on the 24th that at the 'December 2024 Communication Meeting,' it conducted employee awards for hit products and services in the second half of the year, as well as a lecture by KT Wiz manager Lee Kang-cheol.

On the 23rd, with President Choi Woo-hyung and all employees present, the 'K Bank Team of the Year' for the second half of 2024 was announced and an awards ceremony was held.

The newly introduced 'K Bank Team of the Year' rewards employees who have achieved results together for business projects regardless of their team affiliation. There is no limit on the number of members, teams are self-organized to increase autonomy, and the achievement process and results are directly presented to all executives, enhancing fairness.

Among the 10 teams selected for awards, the ▲'Deposit and Withdrawal Reward' team (Grand Prize) ▲'Curious Savings' team (Gold Prize) ▲'Individual Business Owner Real Estate Secured Loan' team (Gold Prize) were recognized as representative products and services in the second half of this year.

The 'Deposit and Withdrawal Reward' team, which won the grand prize, was praised for shifting the paradigm of the existing deposit and withdrawal account by focusing on transactions such as deposits and withdrawals that everyone does daily. Within three months of launch, the service surpassed approximately 1.2 million subscribers, contributing not only to the activation of financial transactions like deposits and withdrawals but also to increased use of various K Bank products and services such as Plus Box and check cards.

The 'Curious Savings' team, awarded the gold prize, launched a new monthly maturity savings product called 'Curious Savings,' achieving 100,000 accounts within one month of launch. The randomly set daily interest rates and stories, as the product name suggests, sparked customer curiosity and engagement. Collaboration with the popular MZ generation character 'DinoTang' allowed customers to enjoy cute and fun winter season stories.

The 'Individual Business Owner Real Estate Secured Loan' team received the gold prize for launching the first 100% non-face-to-face 'Boss Real Estate Secured Loan' product for small business owners and individual entrepreneurs at an internet bank in August. In September, a month later, they expanded the product scope to allow subordinate loans. This was evaluated as the starting point for K Bank's expansion into the individual business owner market.

Additionally, a total of 10 teams were honored, including the ▲AI Quiz Challenge team, which launched an AI quiz challenge using generative AI, ▲ONE team, responsible for the new ONE check card offering customized customer benefits, and ▲Reward Shopping team, which launched a reward shopping service.

Furthermore, K Bank invited KT Wiz manager Lee Kang-cheol for a special lecture to gain insights from a leader. K Bank has a connection with KT Wiz, having commemorated their 2021 Korean Series championship with a special fixed deposit promotion that sold out within a week. Manager Lee led KT Wiz to their first-ever championship since the team's founding and made new history in Korean baseball this season by winning the first-ever 5th place tiebreaker in the regular league and the first-ever wild card upset victory.

Manager Lee shared episodes about joining the KT Wiz team in 2019 and his efforts to gain players' trust. Rather than creating a stiff atmosphere, he shared his unique leadership know-how of coaching comfortably through 'sauna talks' and casual remarks, showing genuine interest in each player.

He stated in the lecture, "Starting as a leader of a new team, I have been writing KT Wiz's history by always communicating with players in daily life based on patience and trust. If K Bank employees also have patience and trust among themselves, they can continue to be a united 'Team K Bank.'"
