Jungnang-gu Practices Acts of Love Throughout the Community for Christmas

As Christmas approaches, a series of love-sharing events are taking place in Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Gyeonggi).

First, on the 18th, the Muk 1-dong Happiness Sharing Council (Chairman Kim Hongdo) delivered Christmas Santa gifts to 20 low-income single-parent preschool children in celebration of Christmas. Council members prepared gifts such as cakes and personally visited the homes to convey their warm hearts. Parents expressed their gratitude, saying, "It was a meaningful time that gave the children the gift of innocence."

Also, on the 20th, a Christmas cake sharing event was held under the auspices of the Mangwoo Bon-dong Happiness Sharing Council (Chairwoman Yoon Hyeongja). This event, organized together with the Korea Racing Authority Jungnang Branch, the Residents' Autonomy Committee, and the Woorim Market Promotion Association, delivered 73 boxes of Christmas cakes to 63 households of children and adolescents from two local children's centers, one group home, and households receiving national basic livelihood security benefits. The Korea Racing Authority Jungnang Branch also donated 500,000 won and shared nutritious seaweed sets, adding warmth to the event.

A special Christmas also continued for Dream Start families. From December 20 to 24, the district provided Christmas cakes to 121 families with 152 Dream Start children, gifting them a time of family harmony. Dream Start is a program that provides customized integrated services to vulnerable children and families. This year, the district also operated various programs such as a family film festival and theme park outings to foster a healthy parenting environment.

Ryu Gyeonggi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, said, “Thanks to the warm hearts of the local community, we were able to give many children a special Christmas. We will continue to care for marginalized neighbors and strive to spread a culture of sharing.”
