"Conventional Expressions and Idiomatic Phrases"
"For some unknown reason
The most aggrieved are Lee Jae-myung supporters"
Recently, Lee Jun-seok, a member of the Reform New Party, who made the remark "I am worried that a situation where the garbage truck leaves and the sewage truck arrives might come," clarified that "I was not referring to anyone in particular."
Earlier on the 20th, Lee publicly targeted Lee Jae-myung, the leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, through his Facebook by referring to the appellate court ruling of Lee Hwa-young, former Deputy Governor for Peace of Gyeonggi Province, stating, "The issue of the president's arbitrary rule and delusional martial law has led to judicial procedures and impeachment against the incumbent president, and someone aiming to fill that vacancy is effectively an accomplice with a person whose facts and charges have already been recognized up to the second trial."
He continued, "Meanwhile, Lee Jae-myung’s filing of a judge disqualification request in the North Korea remittance trial is an attempt to delay the process and hold elections to seek constitutional privileges, which is fundamentally unconstitutional." He added, "If another seed of the constitution sprouts by feeding off unconstitutional martial law, the constitution of the Republic of Korea will be trampled. I worry that a situation like the garbage truck leaving and the sewage truck arriving might come."

On the 23rd, Lee appeared on YTN Radio's 'News Fighting' and addressed the remark. He explained, "The garbage truck obviously represents the current situation we are experiencing under the Yoon Seok-yeol administration. When I said I hope the next one is not the sewage truck, I meant that it should not be someone worse. I was not referring to anyone in particular." He added, "It was just a conventional expression and an idiomatic phrase."
Lee said, "The leader who comes after an unconstitutional president’s martial law should at least be someone who intends to comply with and protect the constitution. That is the general idea." He also said, "For some reason, it seems that the people who are most upset or most scratched are supporters of Lee Jae-myung."
He emphasized, "The worst part of President Yoon is that, as a legal professional, he uses power and technique to demonize someone to the fullest, and when he himself is criticized, he shows behaviors like a 'law eel' (a slippery lawyer). Lee Jae-myung is also a lawyer and legal professional, but if he shows similar behavior, he will inevitably be criticized in the same way."
