Boseong County in Jeollanam-do announced on the 23rd that it will hold a New Year's sunrise event for the Eulsa (Year of the Blue Snake) on January 1, from 6:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., at Yulpo Pine Forest Beach, a popular spot for watching the first sunrise.
The 2025 sunrise event will be hosted and organized by the Boseong Lions Club. The program will kick off with a powerful percussion performance to welcome the new year, followed by a performance by the Boseong County Gugak Orchestra, and a drone light show featuring around 700 drones under the theme "A New Beginning in Boseong," painting the sky with lights.

Additional events will include free tteokguk (rice cake soup) for visitors, a tea tasting booth, and a New Year's wishes writing program.
In particular, this year's sunrise event will feature a 100-meter-long bonfire structure in the shape of a "snake," symbolizing unity and well-being for the people of Boseong. This unique attraction is expected to provide a memorable experience for tourists.
The county plans to deploy about 90 safety personnel near the venue to prevent accidents such as fires and to ensure smooth traffic and parking management during the event.
A county official said, "We hope you will join us at the '2025 Boseong New Year's Sunrise Event,' full of exciting attractions, and welcome a happy new year in 'Hopeful Boseong, overflowing with dreams and happiness.'"
Meanwhile, each town and village in Boseong County will also hold small-scale sunrise events, providing opportunities for residents to pray for the well-being of their communities and for their wishes to come true.
