Gwangju Urban Corporation announced on the 23rd that it has been re-certified as a "Family-Friendly Institution" by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family. Having also been certified as a family-friendly institution last year, Gwangju Urban Corporation will now maintain its certification status for 12 years.
The "Family-Friendly Certification System" is a program that grants certification to companies and public institutions that exemplarily operate family-friendly policies, such as supporting childbirth and childcare and implementing flexible work arrangements. The evaluation criteria include top management leadership, implementation of family-friendly policies, satisfaction with family-friendly management, and internal monitoring records.
Gwangju Urban Corporation received high marks for its various family-friendly policies, including flexible work arrangements (selective work hours, discretionary work system), spouse infertility treatment leave, special leave according to years of service, and partnerships with various medical examination institutions.
President Kim Seungnam said, "Achieving a balance between work and family is extremely important for employees to fully engage in their duties," adding, "We will continue our efforts to improve the quality of life for our employees through a variety of family-friendly policies."
