Marking its fifth edition since its inception in 2020, this year's forum was held under the theme "A New Alliance of Southwest Coast Islands: The 2030 World Island Network Project," featuring expert lectures and discussions.

In particular, the forum focused on highlighting the unique culture and nature of the islands from an artistic perspective, rediscovering their infinite value, and seeking realistic and concrete strategies for island development. The five cities and counties announced their roadmap for attracting the 2030 World Island Network Project and shared their future plans. Afterwards, the heads of the five local governments pledged active cooperation.

Participants discussed "Revitalizing Island Regions through Solidarity and Cooperation," presenting cases of how art can revitalize local communities and examples of collaborative partnerships between island-based cultural and arts enterprises. They continued with discussions on the future vision and sustainable development strategies for the island regions.

Mayor Park Hongryul stated, "Through this forum, I hope we can shed new light on the value of the Southwest Coast islands and help them emerge as a new driving force for Jeonnam, which is facing the crisis of local extinction. Going forward, the five cities and counties will work together in unity and with one heart to attract the 2030 World Island Network Project."
