Hyundai Engineering announced on the 23rd that it was selected as the construction company at the landowners' general meeting for the 'Jeonnong 9th District Public Redevelopment Maintenance Project' held on the 22nd.
The Jeonnong 9th District Public Redevelopment Maintenance Project is a development on a 49,061㎡ site in Jeonnong-dong, Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul, consisting of 9 buildings with 1,159 apartments and ancillary welfare facilities, featuring 4 basement floors and 35 above-ground floors. The Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) is in charge of the project, with a total construction cost of approximately 440 billion KRW.
Through this contract, Hyundai Engineering has secured over 1.5 trillion KRW in cumulative urban maintenance project orders this year, about 120% of last year's level.
In particular, this year, Hyundai Engineering has consecutively won projects such as the remodeling of Seogwang Apartments in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul; the Sadang 5 Housing Reconstruction Maintenance Project in Dongjak-gu, Seoul; the Gojan Yeonrip 2 District Housing Reconstruction Maintenance Project in Danwon-gu, Ansan-si, Gyeonggi Province; and the Banghwa 3 Redevelopment Promotion District Reconstruction Maintenance Project in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, thereby expanding its presence in the metropolitan area.
The Jeonnong 9th District is within walking distance of Cheongnyangni Station, where six lines including Subway Line 1 and the Gyeongui-Jungang Line operate. The opening of the GTX (Great Train Express) B and C lines is also planned.
Nearby educational institutions include Samyuk Elementary School, Jeonil Middle School, and Cheongnyang High School, providing excellent educational conditions. Additionally, lifestyle infrastructure such as Lotte Department Store, Lotte Mart, Cheongnyangni Traditional Market, and advanced general hospitals are available.
A Hyundai Engineering official stated, "We will enhance residential convenience by applying specialized designs such as a themed forest that blocks noise and fine dust, and 250mm thick slabs to reduce noise between floors," adding, "We will provide an optimal residential environment through responsible construction."
