Clip Playback Count Increases Sevenfold... Rapid Steps Toward Ecosystem Expansion
Naver's short-form service Clip is showing rapid growth.
According to the IT industry on the 23rd, as of last month, the number of Naver Clip views increased sevenfold compared to December of last year. During the same period, the number of Clip channels tripled, and content production increased fivefold.
Naver launched Clip in August last year and expanded the service to all users with the Naver app revamp in November of the same year. In effect, Clip has recorded sevenfold growth over about one year since its official launch. Internally, Clip is evaluated to have surpassed TikTok.
Naver is recently focusing on expanding the Clip ecosystem by linking it with various services such as 'My Place.' Through Clip, users can discover places, make reservations, and save them.
The creator ecosystem is also being nurtured. From this month until the 5th of next month, Naver is recruiting Clip creators for the first half of next year. A total of 5,000 creators will be selected and provided with benefits worth 7 billion KRW. As the service areas where Clip is applied?such as Home Feed, Topic Feed, Integrated Search, and Place?expand, the number of selected creators and the scale of rewards have been increased.
Starting next year, benefits for Clip creators will also increase. In addition to the basic activity fee paid to Clip creators who complete missions (producing more than 10 short-form contents per month), bonus activity fees will be additionally paid each time missions are completed consecutively. Various support programs will continue, including the 'Advertising Incentive Beta Program,' which shares advertising revenue with some Clip creators; 'Brand Connect,' which supports partnerships between Clip creators and campaign companies; the educational program 'Clip Creator School' to enhance content production capabilities; and 'Clip Creators Day,' where successful experiences and tips on Clip are shared.
