Creation of Large Santa Air Dome in Red Road Area, Eye-Catching Large Christmas Tree and Light Street
Experience Programs for All Ages, Small Concerts, Food, and Countdown Events Included
Mapo-gu (Mayor Park Gang-su) will hold the "Winter Festa in Red Road" from December 22 to December 31, 2024, to make Christmas and the year-end season warmer and more abundant.
For the Winter Festa, Mapo-gu installed various Christmas-themed sculptures and photo zones, including a large Santa Air Dome, at Red Road R1 Plaza. A large tree was set up at Red Road R6, and the Red Road area and major tourist shopping districts were decorated with light streets.
Inside the Santa Air Dome, visitors can experience various activities such as making Christmas mood lights, wreaths, and pipe cleaner dolls together with Red Road Makers. The programs change daily and run from 2 PM to 7 PM. Visitors who wish to participate can apply on-site.
Additionally, every evening, performances of Christmas carols, jazz, and classical music are held inside the Santa Air Dome, bringing excitement and joy of Christmas to the audience.
On December 24 and 25, the "2024 Mapo Jazz Festival," which adds romance to Christmas, will be held at 5 PM. On other days, small concerts will be held from 6:30 PM.
The food sold at the Winter Festa is also a highlight of the event. The "Jeju Winter in Red Road," featuring eight companies from Jeju Island, sells Jeju's unique specialties. Moreover, food trucks offer different winter delicacies every day.
At the Red Road Power Plant, various participatory events such as taking visit certification photos, "Find Kkaebi and Kkaesun," and a "Stamp Tour" will be held.
On December 31, the "2025 Red Road Countdown" event will be held at Red Road R5 and R6 to welcome the New Year with hope together with Red Road visitors.
