Hwaseong-si Holds Inauguration Ceremony for the 8th Children and Youth Assembly

Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province held the inauguration ceremony for the 8th Children and Youth Council on the 21st at the city hall auditorium.

The event was attended by Hwaseong Mayor Jeong Myeong-geun, Hwaseong City Council Chairman Bae Jeong-su, city council members, Children and Youth Council members, parents, and about 200 others.


At the inauguration ceremony, eight policy proposals discussed by the eight standing committees of the 7th Children and Youth Council were presented, certificates of commendation were awarded to outstanding participants, and appointment letters were given to about 80 members starting their terms in the 8th Council.


The Hwaseong Children and Youth Council is composed of elementary, middle, and high school students from the area. In the 8th Council, 46 children members and 36 youth members will be active. The members will continue various activities such as policy proposal discussions, cultural explorations, and practices to improve children's rights until November next year. Additionally, through the new feature "Suggestions to Child Members" in the integrated system "Hwaseong Aisarang Kium," policy opinions proposed will be collected, adopted as council policy agendas, and realized.


Mayor Jeong urged, "I hope all children and youth council members actively share their creative and ingenious ideas so that Hwaseong City can become a place where every child can achieve their dreams."
