Namtaryeong Police Car Barricade Removed After 28 Hours... "Tractor Farmers Headed to President's Residence"

Rally Scheduled for 6 PM

The standoff between the National Peasants' Federation (Jeonnong) tractors and the police in Namtaeryeong, Seocho-gu, Seoul, was resolved after about 28 hours.

The 'Yoon Seok-yeol Immediate Resignation and Social Reform Emergency Action (Emergency Action),' which held a rally at the standoff site in Namtaeryeong along with Jeonnong, announced around 3:50 p.m. on the 22nd through a notice that "we will lead about 10 tractors from Namtaeryeong Station and march together with all participants to Sadang Station."


They added, "At Sadang Station, the tractors will continue marching on the road toward Hannam Residence, and the participants will move from Sadang Station via subway to the residence."


The police buses that had formed a 'barrier' to block the protesters since around noon the previous day all withdrew from Namtaeryeong around 4:40 p.m.


The Emergency Action announced that they would hold a rally in front of Hannam Residence at 6 p.m.
