Joguk Innovation Party Drafts 'Han Deok-su Impeachment Proposal'... "Yoon an Accomplice to Treason and Military Rebellion"

The Party for National Innovation drafted and disclosed an impeachment motion against Acting President and Prime Minister Han Deok-su on the 22nd.

Regarding President Yoon Seok-yeol's declaration of martial law, the Innovation Party stated that Acting President Han "implicitly condoned" it, citing this as grounds for impeachment, describing it as a "serious crime equivalent to aiding and abetting President Yoon's charges of treason and military rebellion."

The Innovation Party also claimed that after a meeting on the 8th with Han Dong-hoon, then leader of the People Power Party, Acting President Han's announcement that both sides would cooperate to manage state affairs for President Yoon's 'orderly early resignation' was an "unconstitutional and illegal act of attempting to act as president unlawfully, disrupting the national order."

Kim Seon-min, Acting Party Leader, emphasized the necessity of impeachment at a National Assembly press conference, stating, "The biggest obstacle to swiftly suppressing the uprising of treasonous forces is currently Acting President Han."

Kim pointed out that Acting President Han exercised veto power over six bills passed by the National Assembly, including the Grain Management Act, while not proceeding with the acceptance process for the special investigation related to treason, saying, "He was told to act as acting president, but he is acting as an acting president of treason."

Referring to the Democratic Party's statement that if Acting President Han does not promulgate the special investigation laws on treason and Mrs. Kim Geon-hee by the 24th, he will be held accountable, Kim said, "If Acting President Han does not promulgate the special investigation laws by the 24th, the Democratic Party must immediately submit this impeachment motion to the National Assembly and pass it in the plenary session 24 hours later."

According to Article 65 of the Constitution, the initiation of an impeachment motion against a Cabinet member requires the consent of 100 members of the National Assembly, so the Innovation Party alone cannot initiate it.
