Creative and Challenging Integrity Efforts
One Grade Improvement Compared to Last Year
The Korea Workers' Compensation and Welfare Service (Director Park Jong-gil) achieved an overall grade of 2 by improving both the perceived integrity and integrity effort ratings by one grade in the '2024 Public Institution Comprehensive Integrity Evaluation' conducted by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission.
The Service's overall integrity rating in 2023 was grade 3 (both perceived integrity and integrity effort were grade 3).
In particular, the Service led the rise in integrity effort and received higher scores than other institutions of the same evaluation type in the area of 'CEO's interest and effort.'
Director Park Jong-gil urged members not to settle for passive integrity, which is simply refraining from undesirable actions, but to practice active integrity by seeking out desirable actions such as kindness, proactive administration, and ESG management, under the motto "Integrity is the most important competence." He believes that these efforts led to improved public services and the favorable evaluation.
While external perceived integrity also increased compared to the previous year, internal perceived integrity received especially high scores among institutions of the same evaluation type.
Recognizing that the MZ generation is accustomed to communication via messengers and other platforms, the Service created the integrity character 'BARO' and emoticons to internalize integrity awareness, utilized short-form videos for integrity education, and has continuously pursued challenging and creative efforts. Additionally, various integrity organizational culture improvement activities involving all employees, such as operating Integrity and Anti-Corruption 1.0 Day on the 10th of every month, hosting the Cheongoreum Festival Olbaro, the Multi-Value Hi-Five Plus+ organizational culture improvement campaign, and the "Don't Be Curious" campaign, contributed to the improvement of internal perceived integrity.
The 'Cheongoreum Festival Olbaro' saw 3,275 participations in events such as the Olbaro Writing Contest, Olbaro Contest (BI and slogan), and Olbaro Publicity Challenge. The 'Multi-Value Hi-Five Plus+' campaign includes respect, accompany, leave work, communicate, and fairness.
Director Park Jong-gil stated, "Integrity is a core value of public institutions providing services to the public. We will continue to strive to create a work environment with a good integrity organizational culture to establish a virtuous cycle structure that satisfies both internal employees and external customers."
