"If You Visit Daegu, Be Sure to Visit This Place"... 16 'Daegu Travel Shops' Selected

Daegu City and the Daegu Culture and Arts Promotion Agency (Director Park Soon-tae) announced on the 22nd that they have newly selected the ‘Daegu Travel Shops’ recommended for tourists visiting Daegu.

In October, the Daegu Culture and Arts Promotion Agency publicly recruited businesses located in stores within the Dongseongno Tourist District and major tourist attractions in Daegu that can actively promote the charm of Daegu. Based on pre-established evaluation criteria, a total of 16 stores were finally selected through expert reviews both internal and external.

On the 17th, the Daegu Culture and Arts Promotion Agency held the ‘2024 Daegu Travel Shops Certification Ceremony’ and presented certification plaques to the selected stores. They also organized a business briefing and networking event, providing a meaningful opportunity for participating businesses to pledge mutual cooperation.

Yoo Kyung-ho, CEO of Non Table Main Branch, said, “I am very pleased to be selected as a Daegu Travel Shop for two consecutive years. Thanks to this program, many domestic and international tourists have visited our store, greatly contributing to increased sales,” adding, “We will continue to faithfully fulfill our role as a travel shop.”

The selected businesses will receive various support throughout 2025 as representative tourism content of Daegu, including promotion through official Daegu tourism online channels (Daegu Trip Road, travel app ‘Daegu Trip’, SNS, etc.), multilingual QR code menus, hospitality service improvement training, and visit certification promotions.

Through this, they plan to actively promote Daegu to domestic and international tourists and encourage store visits.

In particular, next year, the selected businesses and public sector will collaborate to widely promote Daegu’s charm and carry out joint promotions to attract foreign tourists. Regular meetings are also planned to establish a more effective cooperation system.

Kang Sung-gil, Head of Tourism at the Daegu Culture and Arts Promotion Agency, said, “Daegu Travel Shops provide reasons for domestic and international tourists to visit Daegu, and we will work closely with the selected businesses to ensure that tourists who experience these travel shops have a positive impression of Daegu,” adding, “We will do our best to establish Daegu as a city that offers tourists a special experience.”
