The Constitutional Court postponed the impeachment trial hearing of Lee Jin-sook, Chairperson of the Korea Communications Commission, originally scheduled for the 24th, to January next year.

According to the legal community on the 21st, the Constitutional Court rescheduled the final hearing date for Chairperson Lee's impeachment trial to 10 a.m. on January 15 next year. Two hearings had already been held for Chairperson Lee's impeachment trial, and the last hearing was scheduled for the 24th.
A Constitutional Court official explained the reason for the postponement, saying, "The impeachment trial hearing for Chairperson Lee was postponed because the National Assembly hearings for the appointment of new Constitutional Court justices are scheduled for the 23rd and 24th."
There is also an interpretation that the Constitutional Court postponed Chairperson Lee's hearing, originally set three days earlier, to focus on preparing for the first hearing preparation date of President Yoon Seok-yeol's impeachment trial, scheduled for the 27th. The Constitutional Court had previously announced that it would prioritize the impeachment trial of President Yoon among ongoing impeachment cases.
It is known that the Constitutional Court justices are reviewing documents and organizing their opinions at home even on the weekend.
The Constitutional Court will decide whether to consider the documents as delivered to President Yoon, who has not received the impeachment trial notification documents as of the 23rd.
