First Weekend After Impeachment Approval... Nationwide Rallies Demanding Yoon's Dismissal

On the afternoon of the 21st, the first weekend after the National Assembly passed the impeachment motion, rallies calling for the resignation of President Yoon Seok-yeol will be held across the country. Citizens are expected to urge the swift arrest of President Yoon and the prompt acceptance of the impeachment by the Constitutional Court at the rallies.

The 'Yoon Seok-yeol Resignation Jeonbuk Movement Headquarters' will hold a rally at 4 p.m. in front of Gyeoksa in Jeonju City, Chunggyeong-ro, while the 'Yoon Seok-yeol Resignation Ulsan Movement Headquarters' will hold a rally at the square in front of Lotte Department Store in Nam-gu.


In Daegu, around 5 p.m., the 'Daegu Citizens’ Rally for Immediate Dismissal of Yoon Seok-yeol and Dissolution of the People Power Party,' hosted by the Daegu National Situation Conference, will take place. In Jeju, around 7 p.m., the 'Jeju Residents’ Rally Demanding Immediate Resignation of Yoon Seok-yeol,' hosted by the 'Yoon Seok-yeol Regime Resignation and Korean Society Great Transformation Jeju Action,' will be held.


The Gwangju Emergency Action for Immediate Resignation of the Yoon Seok-yeol Regime and Social Reform, consisting of 175 organizations, will hold the 7th Gwangju Citizens’ General Rally at the 5·18 Democracy Square in Dong-gu, Gwangju. The 'Yoon Seok-yeol Regime Resignation Daejeon Movement Headquarters' plans to hold a citizens’ rally at Eunhasu Intersection in Seo-gu, Daejeon, calling for the dismissal of President Yoon and the dissolution of the People Power Party.


Additionally, the 'Yoon Seok-yeol Immediate Resignation Social Reform Busan Citizens’ Action' and the 'Chungbuk Emergency National Situation Conference' will raise their voices calling for the dismissal of President Yoon at Nori Maru in Seomyeon, Busan, and in front of the Chungbuk Provincial Office, respectively.


Furthermore, the 'Yoon Seok-yeol Regime Resignation Gangwon Movement Headquarters' will hold a Gangwon Province residents’ rally around 3 p.m. on the road near the office of Kwon Seong-dong, acting representative and floor leader of the People Power Party, in Gangneung City, Gangwon Province.


Participants are expected to call not only for the dismissal of President Yoon but also for the resignation of National Assembly member Kwon Seong-dong and the dissolution of the People Power Party.


In Incheon, instead of holding a separate rally, the 'Yoon Seok-yeol Regime Resignation Incheon Movement Headquarters,' composed of civic groups in the Incheon area, will participate in the nationwide grand march held in Gwanghwamun, Seoul, on the same day.


The expected number of participants at each rally is approximately 10,000 in Jeonbuk, 7,000 in Busan, 2,000 in Gangwon, and about 200 each in Chungbuk and Daegu. Cultural performances, free speeches, and marches will be held at each rally.
