Meeting on Interagency Cooperation Following the Passage of the Impeachment Proposal
Focus on Revitalizing the Local Economy by Expanding Cafeteria Closures and Actively Promoting Year-End Parties
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) is focusing on promoting measures to revitalize the local economy and stabilize people’s livelihoods during the turbulent period of the impeachment crisis.
Following an emergency meeting to stabilize district administration after the National Assembly’s approval of the impeachment motion, a cooperation meeting among related organizations was held at Geumcheon-gu Office on the 19th to ensure community stability.
The meeting was attended by the Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, the Chief of Geumcheon Police Station, and the Chief of Geumcheon Fire Station. They discussed ▲emergency measures to revitalize the livelihood economy ▲special crime prevention plans during the impeachment crisis ▲thorough disaster response and safety management, and deliberated on ways to strengthen an organic cooperation system, prioritizing the safety of residents and stabilization of their livelihoods.
To support local businesses struggling due to the impeachment crisis, the district expanded the closure day of the district’s cafeterias, which serve about 800 people daily, to “every Friday.” Every Friday will be designated as a “Local Economy Revitalization Day,” with each department selecting traditional markets and shopping districts to encourage the use of “first-time restaurants.”
Additionally, the district plans to resume departmental gatherings and year-end parties to help revive local businesses and actively use these occasions as opportunities to listen to residents’ difficulties and communicate with them.
Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, “We will do our best to secure the safety and livelihood stability of residents by pooling the capabilities of each institution through a close cooperation system among related organizations,” and added, “We ask everyone to work together to wisely overcome these difficult times.”
He continued, “With small business owners and self-employed individuals facing great difficulties due to the impeachment crisis and economic downturn, we aim to inject some vitality into the frozen neighborhood economy through measures such as expanding cafeteria closure days and promoting year-end parties,” and said, “We will continue to prepare measures to revitalize the local economy.”
