Performance Sharing Meeting at Asti Hotel Busan on the 20th at 2:30 PM
Busan City has achieved innovative results this year through the ‘Blockchain Specialized Cluster Development’ project aimed at fostering blockchain companies and supporting commercialization in Busan, thereby laying the foundation for the expansion of Busan’s blockchain ecosystem.
The ‘Regional Specialized Industry Convergence Blockchain Joint Project’ (3 projects, 9 companies participating), which selected and promoted tasks expected to create synergy between Busan’s specialized industries and blockchain technology, has completed verification and is now moving into full-scale commercialization.
▲ The ‘Blockchain-based Real-time Information Sharing Platform for Maritime Port Logistics’ integrates and operates maritime port logistics data that stakeholders previously managed individually, enabling Busan Port Authority to monitor in real time. This has significantly improved operational efficiency in port logistics (berth management, docking optimization, yard delay time management, etc.) and is being promoted with the goal of becoming the world’s first commercialized service. Smart M2M (joint participants: Containous, Goldrox Shipping, Smart Cube) took part.
▲ The ‘Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based Finding All Service Platform’ is a citizen participation platform where anyone can register and return lost items without restrictions of time and place. It has overcome the previous limitation of a return rate at about half and created a turning point that innovatively changes the culture of lost item returns. Sejong Telecom (joint participant: BNK System) participated.
▲ The ‘Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based Export-Import Logistics History Management Service’ digitalizes the complex certification procedures of bonded transportation work, which previously relied on paper documents, phone calls, and faxes, allowing 24-hour easy processing via mobile. This maximizes work efficiency and enhances user accessibility and convenience. M2 Korea (joint participants: Dube, Neotek) participated.
The ‘Corporate Commercialization Support Program’ (14 companies participating) supported investment attraction and commercialization by connecting private investors and blockchain companies, resulting in the creation of 36 new jobs and meaningful achievements demonstrating technical excellence and market competitiveness across various industries.
‘Atad’ solved various problems occurring in the existing data distribution process through blockchain technology and provided a ‘Web 3.0 Data Distribution Platform’ service that makes data trading safe and easy. This year, it secured investments worth 13 billion KRW and received awards including the Minister’s Award and the National Assembly Member’s Award.
‘Okissi’ developed and operates ‘Ojirapper,’ a platform to prevent lease fraud and support safe real estate transactions, and was recognized for its innovation by being selected for the Credit Guarantee Fund’s ‘Little Penguin’ program.
‘Bada Platform’ introduced a food safety certification service called ‘Safean’ based on blockchain in cooperation with SK Telecom, issuing food safety certificates through the PASS app, and plans to expand the service to public institutions such as schools.
‘Beyondy’ developed ‘Majung,’ a simple information submission and authentication service based on blockchain decentralized identity (DID) for pet business operators and guardians, and achieved the honor of winning the Korea Internet & Security Agency Director’s Award at the ‘2024 Blockchain Competition.’
To share and disseminate the major achievements and success stories of the ‘Blockchain Specialized Cluster Development’ project, a performance sharing meeting was held at 2:30 p.m. on the 20th at Asti Hotel Busan.
The performance report meeting included ▲ presentations on project achievements and best practices ▲ corporate presentations (IR) ▲ networking sessions, providing opportunities to discover new business models.
About 150 people attended, including representatives from the city, Ministry of Science and ICT, Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA), Busan Technopark, Busan Port Authority as the project demand institution, and participating companies.
Through this performance sharing meeting, the city aims to widely disseminate the companies’ achievements and seek multifaceted and in-depth strategies to continuously discover projects with substantial results and competitiveness that citizens can feel.
Nam Dong-woo, Busan City’s Financial Startup Policy Officer, said, “I would like to express my deep gratitude to all project stakeholders who have devoted themselves and continuously innovated for the development of blockchain technology and company growth throughout this year. Based on this year’s achievements, we will do our best to establish effective policies for fostering the blockchain industry and build new growth engines for Busan.”
