Since 2000, for 25 consecutive years, an anonymous donor known as the "Face-less Angel" in Jeonju, Jeonbuk, has donated money around Christmas without fail, and this year, they once again visited the community center.

According to Jeonju City on the 20th, the "Face-less Angel" left a donation box around 9:26 a.m. near the Nosong-dong Community Center in Wansan-gu and then disappeared. At that time, the Nosong-dong Community Center received a call with the caller ID blocked, and the caller said only, "I left (the donation box) under the truck opposite the Korean buffet in the reporter's village. Please use it for the underprivileged neighbors," before hanging up. The community center staff said, "It was a male voice in his 40s to 50s."

The community center staff hurried to the scene about 230 meters away. As the caller said, there was an A4 paper box. Inside the box were bundles of 50,000 won bills, a piggy bank containing coins, and a letter that read, "To all the young heads of households, have a warm year and a Happy New Year." The total amount of the donation was 80,038,850 won.

Over 25 years, the cumulative amount donated by the "Face-less Angel" has reached 1,044,836,520 won. The donor, whose name and face have never been revealed, places thousands of thousands to tens of millions of won along with a letter in a box around Christmas every year and delivers it to the Nosong-dong Community Center before disappearing, earning the nickname "Face-less Angel." So far, Jeonju City has used the donations from the "Face-less Angel" to provide cash, rice, briquettes, and heating fuel vouchers to marginalized groups such as young heads of households and elderly living alone. This year's donation will also be used for scholarships for local students and support for young heads of households.

Meanwhile, on the 9th, Jeonju City announced that it will extend the use of honorary road names such as "Face-less Angel Street" for five years until January 5, 2030. Honorary road names are not legal road names but are given to express local culture and characteristics and to enhance residents' pride. In Jeonju City, three honorary road names are used: Face-less Angel Street, Printing Culture Street, and National Pension Road. Jeonju City designated a section of Inbong-ro as "Face-less Angel Street" to emulate the good deeds of the "Face-less Angel" and to widely publicize their meaning.
